It’s built on clear values and a vision that actually means something to you, supported by simple systems that work (and don’t make you want to throw your laptop).

A healthy practice gives back…in time, energy, creativity, and calm. It lets you do good work, make an impact, and still have a life you love.

What’s the schedule?

 

 

 

 

Tuesday

Upon arrival at our magical venue, you will get to settle into your luxury room and explore the beautiful garden and surrounds and soak up the quietness. We will then dive straight into the good stuff, spending the afternoon setting the foundations in place for the rest of your time with us.

 

 

 

 

Wednesday

We enjoy a breakfast before starting the day. This is a great day packed with practical content around reinforcing the healthy foundations of your practice, from finances, to team cohesiveness, to nailing your values. It’s time to do those things you put off and never get time to do because we will work through the areas we think are essential to creating a healthy practice. The retreat unfolds over three days and I don’t want to give too many surprises away, but after the first day, you will certainly feel like celebrating and we have just the treat for you with a special retreat dinner.

 

 

 

 

Thursday

We again share breakfast with our fellow retreaters, before embarking on a wonderful day of creating strategy and intent, with real goals and put in place all the practical things that are needed for you to take back to your practice. This day will be about getting real about who you need to show up as, things you want to keep in your practice, things you need to shed, and what your options are.

 

 

 

 

Friday MORNING

We bring it all together. After breakfast, we keep creating and working on the practice we know we can have. By lunchtime on Friday you will have your plan in place, your own way to guide you forward and develop your healthy practice further than you thought you could. You will take with you not only written down practical steps, but inspiration and ideas shared throughout the three days from our team and also the other retreat guests who you are likely to have a real bond with by now. To celebrate the end of 3 days of amazing work, we will sit down for our final lunch together and reflect on what a wonderful few days it has been.

 

 

 

 

Friday Afternoon

To complete your stay with us have planned some optional fun activities for Friday afternoon at the suggestion from our previous guests of the retreat. Then you will be ready to make your way back home with confidence and calmness. You will be leaving us with great memories, wonderful new friendships, and clarity on how you can grow your own healthy practice to suit your wonderful life.

Before you apply, a special note

 

This retreat is something truly special – four days just for you.

We’ve designed every detail so you can arrive and exhale. Your accommodation and all meals are fully covered from Tuesday evening through to Friday afternoon, so once you’re here, you don’t have to think about a thing.

Because it’s such a tailored experience, it’s also a significant investment – and it’s not for everyone. The retreat is intentionally small, with only a select number of places available. That’s what makes it feel so personal. You’ll be surrounded by people who genuinely get you, not lost in a crowd.

If you’re even a little curious, our advice is simple: apply early. Spaces always fill quickly, and we’d hate for you to miss out if your heart is already whispering that this is what you need right now.

You deserve to feel looked after, supported, and inspired and that’s exactly what these four days are about.

 

How do I apply?

Coming along to the Healthy Practice Retreat is a big, bold move -and we love that for you.

It’s about stepping outside your comfort zone and saying yes to investing in yourself and your practice. You’ll be stepping away from the day-to-day for 4 days (we know that’s not easy!), but we’ll be right here to support you every step of the way.

Because this retreat is intentionally small, we want to make sure everyone who joins is ready – ready to reflect deeply, share openly, and cheer each other on. The conversations are honest, the ideas are big, and the energy is real. It’s important that the group feels safe, connected, and inspired.

Once you’ve completed the short application form, we’ll be in touch personally to chat about your goals and make sure it’s the right fit.

I’m not sure if this is the right time, how do I know if the retreat is for me?

If you’ve been feeling stuck, tired, or unsure what comes next for your practice, it’s the right time. You don’t need to have everything falling apart (or perfectly together) to come. The retreat is designed to meet you where you’re at – whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been running a team for years. If your gut says, “I need a reset,” that’s your sign.

 

Can I count the Healthy Practice Retreat towards my CPD hours?

Yes – absolutely! The Healthy Practice Retreat is designed to support both your professional and personal growth as a practice owner. Many participants have successfully claimed the retreat as part of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

You’ll spend time reflecting on your practice direction, setting strategic goals, and participating in discussions and activities that directly relate to business and leadership development – all of which align with most professional association CPD frameworks.

We recommend checking your association’s specific CPD requirements to confirm how the hours can be applied.

What if I don’t know anyone going?

That’s actually one of the best parts. Most people come solo — and within the first coffee break, it feels like you’ve known each other for years. This group is full of down-to-earth, supportive practice owners who get what it’s like to do what you do. You’ll leave with new friends, fresh ideas, and people you’ll keep in touch with long after the retreat ends.

 

I’m worried about stepping away from my business for a few days - how do people manage that?

Totally normal worry – and one of the most common.
Here’s the truth: your business will survive without you for three days. And the space you get from stepping away often brings the best insights and decisions you’ve had in months. Many past attendees have said it actually made them better leaders when they returned – calmer, clearer, and more intentional.

 

Can I share a room with a friend or colleague?

Yes! If you’d like to share a room, just let us know who with when you apply. If you don’t have someone in mind, don’t worry – we’ll pair you with another attendee who’s also keen to share. The rooms at Bannisters are spacious, beautiful, and designed for comfort, so you’ll still have plenty of space to unwind.

 

Is there downtime or is it all workshops?

Definitely downtime! Each day is a balance of guided sessions, reflection time, and space to rest, walk, chat, or just stare out at the ocean with a coffee. This retreat isn’t about pushing harder – it’s about giving you space to think, breathe, and reset.

 

Will there be time to ask questions or get feedback on my own business?

Absolutely. There’s lots of time for discussion, sharing, and gentle feedback – but no pressure. You can share as much or as little as you’d like. Many of the most valuable moments come from those relaxed, real conversations with others who “get it.”

 

Are there payment plans available?

Yes – we know that investing in yourself can feel big, so we’ve made it flexible. Once your spot is confirmed, you can choose to pay upfront or in smaller instalments over several months. We’ll chat about what works best for you before anything is locked in.

 

I’m nervous I’ll be behind everyone else — what if I don’t feel “successful enough”?

Oh, this comes up a lot and please know, everyone feels that way at first. The retreat isn’t about how many staff you have or how long you’ve been in business. It’s about taking time to work on your practice, not in it – wherever you’re at.

You’ll find people at all different stages, and the beauty is how much you’ll learn from each other. No one’s keeping score here.

 

I’m struggling financially but really want to come.

Firstly – thank you for being honest about that. We know what it’s like to run a practice and juggle all the pressures that come with it.
A few options might help:

  • We do offer payment plans to spread the cost out.
  • You could also treat it as a professional development investment – many practice owners use PD budgets or claim business expenses for retreats like this (check with your accountant).
  • Most importantly, apply first and let’s chat. We never want money to be the only reason someone misses out on something that could truly help them move forward. Sometimes if you can’t afford to come, that’s exactly why you need to come!

We want you to have a great, stress-free time at this event. Part of that great feeling comes from knowing the fine print! So we have broken it down here for you:

 

 

 

 

How does payment work?

A deposit is required to apply for the retreat. If your application is successful, your deposit is deducted off your total amount owing. If your application is not successful, your deposit will be returned to you. Full payment must be made to secure your spot. Payment is required at least 30 days PRIOR to the commencement of the event. Please contact us if you have any further questions or issues regarding payment.

 

 

 

 

What is your cancellation policy?

If you wish to cancel your booking, you will need to provide this in writing to us. Your cancellation date is the date when written notification is received. Please email any cancellation notifications to hello@theconnectionco.com.au.

 

 

 

 

Are flights included in the cost?

Please note the cost does not include flights – you will need to purchase these yourself. Travel insurance is also not included. This will need to be purchased by yourself. Choosing travel insurance will be at your own discretion. We recommend that travel insurance covers you for cancellations, medical expenses, and injury at a minimum, if you choose to take insurance. The Connection is not liable for any out of pocket expenses that insurance will not cover and will not be held responsible financially or in kind should your insurance or lack of insurance not cover your personal circumstances. Itinerary and other details that are published in good faith may be changed if required.

 

 

 

 

If I decide to stay overnight on Friday, are meals included?

Friday dinner is not included.

 

 

 

 

What is your COVID-19 cancellation policy?

In the event that New South Wales is affected by any federal or state government law or regulations which prohibits travel from your ordinary place of residence to the venue in New South Wales, you will be entitled to a full refund (less a $200 administration fee) subject to the following conditions: We are satisfied that at the time of requesting the refund, there is a federal or state government law, regulation, or other order related to COVID-19 in place which would reasonably prevent you from traveling to and/or from New South Wales.

Sickness: If you cannot attend this event because you have a suspected or actual case of COVID-19, or have otherwise been ordered to self-isolate or quarantine, you will be entitled to a full refund (less a $200 administration fee) subject to the following conditions: For the safety and wellbeing of all staff and guests attending this event, we ask that if you are presenting any cold or flu like symptoms including but not limited to:

  • a cough
  • fever
  • shortness of breath
  • sore throat
  • sneezing and runny nose
  • temporary loss of smell or taste; or
  • altered sense of taste

 

 

 

 

What are your COVID-19 testing requirements?

On the day of arrival you will be required to take a Rapid Antigen Test that will be provided. You may be asked to repeat this daily.

Please also advise us if:

  • anyone that you have been in close contact with has been diagnosed with COVID-19
  • anyone that you have been in close contact with has symptoms related to COVID-19
  • anyone that you have been in close contact with has recently returned from a hotspot or from overseas
  • anyone in your household is self-isolating or mandatory quarantining

 

 

 

 

What if I change my mind about coming?

If New South Wales is NOT affected by any federal or state government law or regulations which prohibits travel to and from the state, the event will proceed as planned. If you decide at your own discretion not to attend for reasons other than sickness, our normal cancellation policy applies. You will need to contact us via email at your earliest convenience to notify us of this change.
